5 Tips to Reduce Data Consumption on Your iPhone
If you think that the Internet data plan on your iPhone is being heavily depleted, then you have to take some effective steps to reduce it. Here are five tips to reduce data consumption on your iPhone:

Restrict Store Store Store on Wireless Network

You can prevent the Store Store from downloading apps, music, and other content while you're offline.

To do so, follow these steps:
  • Settings
  • iTunes & App Store
  • Turn off the Use Cellular Data option

Stop updating applications in the background

Background application updates automatically consume large amounts of data, and users can turn off the feature to reduce data consumption by stopping fetching new content for these apps.

To do so, follow these steps:
  • Settings
  • General
  • Turn off the Background App Refresh option
You can also turn off manually updating some apps through the list of apps installed on your phone if you do not want to stop updating a particular app, such as some social apps.

Find out which applications consume data

When you select applications that consume large amounts of data, you can take advantage of the previous option more effectively by stopping the most data-intensive applications from being updated in the background.

To do this go to Settings and then Cellular and you will see the cellular data consumption for each application.

Stop Wi-Fi Assist

Wi-Fi Assist is a very important feature that helps the user when there is a weak signal in the wireless network, where the connection to the cellular data packet is automatically switched to ensure that the Internet is not interrupted.

However, this feature will drain data on the Internet, preferring not to rely on it for limited package owners.

To turn this feature off, follow these steps:
  • Settings
  • Cellular
  • Scroll down and turn off Wi-Fi Assist

Use the Reading List feature in Safari

If you're a person who reads a lot of articles on the Internet, you can add some of these articles to your offline reading when you're offline. All of the articles are downloaded and made available for you to read when you're offline.

This feature is available in the default Safari browser on iPhone phones, and is available in Chrome browser.
